In February of 2026, a resident on Inverness Way reported that they had been scammed. The resident reported that they had been contacted by a suspect reporting that their Apple account had been flagged for fraudulent activity. The resident was instructed to withdraw over $20,000 from their bank account and hand deliver the money to a courier that would arrive at their residence. A short time later, a male suspect arrived at their residence, collected the cash and left the area. Following the incident, the resident realized that they had been scammed.

Fraud/Scam
In June 2026, a resident on Macadamia Drive reported being the victim of a scam. The resident received a phone call from an individual posing as a family member who claimed to need money for an emergency. Believing the request to be legitimate, the resident withdrew cash from their bank account and gave it to a courier who arrived at the residence a short time later.
The resident later contacted the family member and confirmed that the phone call had been fraudulent. HPD officers arranged a second meeting with a courier under the pretense of providing additional money, and a subject was detained. HPD investigators obtained information to further the investigation and will continue to follow up on additional investigative leads.
