The Belfair Clean & Green Brigade Adopt-A-Highway volunteers will be collecting litter on Monday, July 6, from 8 to 11 a.m. along U.S. 278 in both directions between Simmonsville Road and Belfair Oaks Boulevard in Bluffton.
Volunteers will be working close to the roadway where there is no sidewalk access. They will be wearing high-visibility orange safety vests and will take every precaution to work safely.
Motorists are encouraged to:
- Slow down when approaching the work area.
- Stay alert for volunteers along the shoulder.
- Move over when it is safe to do so, if possible.
- Help keep everyone safe by avoiding distractions while driving.
The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office appreciates the Belfair Clean & Green Brigade volunteers for helping keep Beaufort County clean and beautiful while reminding motorists to exercise extra caution when traveling through the area Monday morning.
