As you celebrate this holiday weekend with family and friends, please remember that only certain novelty fireworks are legal in New Jersey, and all fireworks are subject to City ordinances.
✅ Legal in New Jersey:
• Hand-held and ground-based sparklers
• Snakes and glow worms
• Party poppers, snappers, and drop pops
❌ Illegal in New Jersey:
• Roman candles
• Bottle rockets
• Firecrackers
• Aerial fireworks
Within the City, fireworks may not be discharged:
• Between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
• Within 15 feet of any structure
• On City property, including parks, parking lots, and streets
Violations may result in fines of up to $2,000, community service, and/or imprisonment.
