Wilmington Police arrest woman following a vehicle collision investigation:
Wilmington Police have arrested a woman following a vehicle collision investigation.
On June 27th at approximately 7:29 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the area of South Park Drive and North Van Buren Street in reference to a single motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers located an overturned vehicle and four individuals that were occupants of the vehicle at the time of the incident. Two occupants including the driver of the vehicle – 27-year-old Zaahidah Muhammad – were transported to the hospital in stable condition. The other two occupants refused medical treatment.
The case was assigned to the Special Operation Division’s Traffic Unit, and following further investigation, Muhammad has been charged with the following offenses in addition to traffic citations:
- Vehicular Assault (First Degree)
- Vehicular Assault (Second Degree)- Two Counts
- Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence
