Cooling Centers available to Pelham Residents

As we prepare for several days of high temperatures, the Village is here to help residents stay safe, comfortable, and supported. The Village of Pelham Municipal Center Meeting Hall, located at 200 Fifth Avenue, will be open as a cooling center for anyone who needs relief from the heat through Sunday, July 5th. The municipal center will be accessible between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. each day.

All Pelham residents are welcome to stop by and take advantage of this safe, air-conditioned space, which includes access to WiFi and options for charging phones and laptops.

The Town of Pelham is availing additional cooling centers around the Town. Daronco Town House, located at 20 Fifth Avenue, will be open to residents until 9:00 p.m., and the Pelham Public Library, located at 530 Colonial Avenue, will be open until 8:00 p.m.

We also encourage everyone to look out for one another during this time—please check in on family members, neighbors, seniors, and anyone who may need extra support during extreme heat. Please remember to drink plenty of water, limit strenuous outdoor activity when possible, and seek medical attention if you or someone nearby experiences symptoms of heat-related illness. All are encouraged to reduce electricity use during peak hours to avoid overburdening the grid.

Together, we can help keep our community safe.
