On July 2, 2026, Alamance County confirmed its fourth rabies case of the year. The rabid fox exposure occurred near Garden Road and Westridge Drive in Burlington, NC.
Residents of the surrounding area or persons who were at the nearby park on this date with outdoor pets are encouraged to check their animals for any bite wounds and monitor them closely. If you live in this area and are concerned about a possible exposure, please contact the on-call communicable disease nurse at 336-516-7715.
