Victorville Gang Impact Team Recovers Stolen Handgun and Assault Weapon During Search Warrant



DATE/TIME: Wednesday, July 1, 2026, 8:57 p.m. 

INCIDENT: PC 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm
PC 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition
PC 32310 – Possession of a Large-Capacity Magazine.

LOCATION: 7800 Block of Victor Avenue, Hesperia, CA 92345

SUSPECT(S): Curtis Ealy, 23-years-old, Resident of Hesperia

VICTIM(S): State of California 


SUMMARY: On July 1, 2026, deputies assigned to the Victorville Station's Gang Impact Team conducted an investigation into the illegal possession of firearms by 23-year-old Curtis Ealy, a resident of Hesperia.

The investigation led to the service of a search warrant at a residence in the 7800 block of Victor Avenue in Hesperia. During the search, deputies recovered ammunition, a large-capacity magazine, a stolen Springfield Armory XD .45-caliber handgun, and an AR-style rifle configured as an assault weapon under California law.

The investigation revealed Ealy was a convicted felon and prohibited by law from possessing firearms or ammunition.

Ealy was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for felony violations of Penal Code section 29800(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Penal Code section 30305(a)(1) – Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Penal Code section 32310 – Possession of a Large-Capacity Magazine.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department remains dedicated to reducing gun violence through proactive investigations and targeted enforcement. The Victorville Station's Gang Impact Team continues to identify and arrest prohibited persons who unlawfully possess firearms, helping keep our communities safe.
