After carefully reviewing the latest weather forecast and consulting with our public safety officials, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tonight's Roselle Independence Day Celebration.
Safety is our highest priority when making decisions about outdoor events and unfortunately the forecast for severe weather and rain this afternoon and evening creates significant safety concerns.
We know how much this tradition means to our community, and we share in your disappointment. Rather than simply canceling, we are already working with the many vendors, performers, technicians, and public safety partners involved to identify a future date when we can safely reschedule the entertainment and fireworks.
Coordinating an event of this size takes time and we will share an update as soon as an alternative date is secured.
