The Cranford Police Communications Center is currently receiving a higher-than-normal call volume due to storm damage being reported. If you are reporting downed limbs that are not blocking roadways and are not associated with live power lines, please leave a message for the Cranford DPW on their hotline at 908-709-7217.
Due to an extreme thunderstorm experienced this evening, there are numerous downed trees, limbs, and live power lines. Cranford experienced a pop-up storm that included 60 MPH winds and torrential rain. Currently, there is a severe thunderstorm warning that will conclude at 9:15 PM.On North Lehigh Avenue, downed high-tension power lines have caught on fire. PSEG has been dispatched and is responding.
The Cranford Department of Public Works and PSEG have been dispatched to respond to various calls of downed trees blocking roadways and downed power lines.
