Advisory

Storm update: Crews working to clear trees and debris from roadways. Efforts could continue for several days.

Last night’s severe storms caused significant damage throughout the City.

Several areas remain impacted by downed power lines, fallen trees, and other storm-related hazards. Utility crews from PSE&G continue working to restore service and make affected areas safe. Due to the widespread damage across Union County, some repairs may take several days.

If your street remains closed, please do not:

  • Drive around road closures.
  • Approach or attempt to move downed wires.
  • Drive over downed power lines.

Always assume any downed wire is energized and dangerous.

City DPW crews are continuing debris removal throughout the weekend, with priority given to clearing hazards that affect public safety and reopening roadways. Please note that trees entangled with power lines cannot be removed until PSE&G has made the area safe.

Please reserve 9-1-1 for emergencies only. For non-emergency police matters or to report storm-related concerns, contact the Linden Police Department at (908) 474-8500 and select Option 2.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as first responders, public works personnel, and utility crews continue recovery efforts. Please continue to monitor our social media channels for updates.
