Weather Alert for This Evening
The National Weather Service is forecasting the potential for strong thunderstorms across our area this afternoon and evening.
There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms beginning after 3:00 p.m., with showers and thunderstorms becoming likely before 10:00 p.m.
Additional showers and isolated thunderstorms may continue through midnight, with a chance of showers lingering after midnight.
Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall, along with damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and localized flooding.
Residents are encouraged to:
Monitor the latest weather forecasts and be prepared to take shelter if warnings are issued.
Secure loose outdoor furniture and other items that could become airborne.
Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of severe weather, especially if roads become flooded. DO NOT drive through flooded roadways.
STAY AWAY from downed trees and power lines, and call 911 to report emergencies.
Report power outages directly to JCP&L.
