As we celebrate and enjoy the holiday with family and friends, I encourage everyone to make safety a priority.

Last year, more than 11,500 people were injured by fireworks nationwide during the Fourth of July holiday.

Please celebrate safely in Clayton County:

• Use fireworks responsibly and legally.

• Monitor your pets’ reactions to fireworks.

• Report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.

• Never drink and drive. Designate a sober driver or use a rideshare, public transportation, or another safe way home if you’ve been drinking.

Let’s enjoy the holiday without emergency room visits or tragic headlines. Together, we can keep our community safe, peaceful, and proud.
