FFWLOT The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Northwestern Cook County in northeastern Illinois... Northern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Northeastern Kane County in northeastern Illinois...

* Until 900 PM CDT.

* At 307 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing torrential rainfall across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen in portions of far northeastern Kane County. The expected rainfall rate is up to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and other poor drainage areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Chicago, Elgin, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Palatine, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, Elmhurst, Lombard, Bartlett, Streamwood, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Carpentersville, Addison, Glendale Heights, Elk Grove Village and St. Charles.
