* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Morris County in northern New Jersey... Sussex County in northwestern New Jersey... Northeastern Warren County in northwestern New Jersey... Northeastern Monroe County in northeastern Pennsylvania...

* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 637 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Alpine Mountain, or 11 miles east of Mount Pocono, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Locations impacted include... Newton, Montague, Dover, Hopatcong, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, East Stroudsburg, Boonton, Butler, Wharton, Rockaway, Blairstown, Mount Arlington, Franklin, Mountain Lakes, Stanhope, Riverdale, Hamburg, Ogdensburg, and Sussex. This includes the following highways... Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 32 and 40, and between mile markers 46 and 48. Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 43 and 54.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. In addition to large hail and damaging winds, frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
