Monroe Township OEM Community Update
Recovery efforts continue throughout Monroe Township following last night's severe thunderstorm that impacted our community and surrounding municipalities. Township emergency personnel and JCP&L crews remain actively working to address storm-related damage and restore services as quickly and safely as possible.
JCP&L is currently reporting approximately 504 Monroe Township customers remain without electrical service. Residents experiencing a power outage should report it directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877). If you encounter an emergency or life-threatening situation, dial 911 immediately.
Road Closure:
• Hoffman Station Road – Between Gravel Hill-Spotswood Road and Prospect Plains Road due to utility pole repairs.
All previously reported roadway closures have been reopened. Please continue to use caution while driving, as utility crews and cleanup operations remain active throughout the Township.
With excessive heat continuing today, residents needing an air-conditioned location are welcome to utilize the Monroe Township Police Department Lobby, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is located at:

If power outages continue and additional cooling locations become necessary, Monroe Township will open additional facilities and announce them through Monroe Township OEM.
As a reminder, this evening's Independence Day fireworks at Thompson Park have been cancelled due to ongoing storm recovery efforts and the threat of additional thunderstorms later this evening.
For your safety, never approach or touch a downed power line. Always assume it is energized and immediately report hazardous conditions by calling 911.
