Tomorrow, Sunday 7/5/26, Howell Township will again open a cooling and device charging center at the Senior Center for any Township residents who might not otherwise have a place to escape the heat as a result of the recent storm related power outages. Residents are required to provide their own device charging cord. (Ice is NOT available at the Senior Center. See below.)

The center will be open Sunday July 5, 2026 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm. Howell residents only. ID and sign-in required.

The Howell Senior Center is located at 251 Preventorium Road.

Jersey Central Power & Light customers without power due to severe weather on July 3 can pick up free water and ice at the following locations. Please visit the Customer Service desk to receive a voucher. The locations closest to Howell Township are the Shop Rite on Route 9 in Howell and the Acme on Route 9 in Freehold, just across the border. (Please be ready to provide proof that you are a JCP&L customer - We have heard that some locations are requiring individuals to show a copy of their utility bill.)
