*UPD* #LASD Homicide Investigators Responded to a Shooting Death Investigation, 2100 blk N. Grandee Ave., Compton
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male Black adult. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 12:10 AM, on the 2100 block of N. Grandee Ave. in the city of Compton.
Investigators have learned a large block party was taking place at the location when two adult Black males were struck by gunfire. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The other was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
There is no evidence that this incident and the incident on the 700 W. Laurel block of Compton are related.
There is no suspect information/description and there is no additional information available at this time.
