1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (1654) 3400 Block of Zamora Way, Park District
A female victim, 25, reported that the suspect held a sharp object to her and threatened to cut her with it. The suspect initially refused to comply with the officers' commands but was later taken into custody without incident. ARRESTED: Kelly Steward, 62, for assault with a deadly weapon.
2. Traffic Fatality (1908) West Magnolia Street and North Edison Street, Civic District
Officers responded to a solo-vehicle collision in the area. The male driver, 37, was pronounced deceased on scene, and a 10-year-old male juvenile passenger was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Traffic officers responded and assumed the investigation.
3. Residential Robbery (2008) 3900 Block of North Pershing Avenue, Lakeview District
The male and female victims, both 37, were at their home when several suspects showed up and assaulted the male victim. The suspects threatened the victims. The suspects took the victims’ property before fleeing the area. SUSPECTS: Four Hispanic male adults, one Black male adult.
4. Robbery (2136) 600 East Worth St, Seaport District
The victim, 26, was walking in the area when three suspects approached and assaulted him. One suspect tried to tase the victim, but he blocked it. The suspects took the victim’s property before fleeing the area. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical. SUSPECTS: Two Hispanic male adults and one Black male adult.
5. Armed Robbery (0018) 700 Block of East Lindsay Street, Park District
The female victim, 31, was in the area when the suspect approached her, pointed a black handgun at her, and took her property before fleeing the area. SUSPECT: Unknown race male.
