Storm Recovery Update - Ongoing Power Restoration, Road Closures & Weather Advisory
Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management continues to closely monitor storm recovery efforts following this weekend's severe weather.
JCP&L has restored power to the vast majority of affected residents. At this time, approximately 70 Monroe Township customers remain without electrical service, and utility crews continue working to safely complete the remaining repairs.
Power has been restored to all previously affected traffic signals throughout the Township. However, the following roadways remain closed due to ongoing utility repairs:
• Hoffman Station Road – Between Gravel Hill-Spotswood Road and Prospect Plains Road
• Spotswood-Englishtown Road – Between Mounts Mills Road and Rue Road
Please continue to avoid these areas, follow posted detours, and use caution while traveling as utility and public works crews remain in the field.
With hot temperatures continuing and additional showers and thunderstorms possible today into tomorrow, residents needing a place to cool down may utilize the Monroe Township Police Department Lobby, open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at 3 Municipal Plaza. If the need arises, additional Township cooling locations will be opened and announced by Monroe Township OEM.
Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation. Monroe Township OEM will continue to monitor conditions, coordinate with our emergency response and utility partners, and provide additional updates as necessary.
