Heavy rainfall is expected in New York City 7/6 through 7/7. Heavy rain has the potential to cause rapid flooding with little to no notice and can be life threatening, especially in poor drainage areas and low-lying spots. Basements and ground-level apartments are at a greater risk of flooding. New Yorkers are reminded to be prepared to move to higher ground or a higher floor during periods of heavy rain, and to stay out of flooded basements.
