Deputies Arrest Suspect in Possession of Stolen Vehicle Following FLOCK Camera Alert

On Friday, June 26, 2026, at approximately 11:21 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded after a Flock Safety camera alerted to a stolen vehicle entering the City of Twentynine Palms.
A short time later, the stolen silver 2005 Dodge Durango was detected by a second Flock camera on Highway 62 before continuing eastbound. Deputy Hernandez responded to the area and located the unoccupied vehicle in the parking lot of an ARCO gas station located in the 73000 Block of Twentynine Palms Highway.
Deputies conducted a thorough investigation, reviewed through surveillance footage from local businesses, and positively identified Twentynine Palms resident Anthony Elliott as the suspect and sole occupant of the stolen vehicle. Elliott was located at a local hotel in the 71000 Block of Twentynine Palms Highway and was detained without incident.
Elliott was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail. He is currently being held on $30,000 bail.
