Middle Township Police Arrest Man and Woman in Connection with Burleigh Stabbing Incident

Middle Township, NJ – On July 5, 2026, at approximately 5:50 p.m., officers from the Middle Township Police Department were dispatched to Maryland Avenue in the Burleigh section of Middle Township in response to a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a 27-year-old female from Lynchburg, Virginia, who had sustained significant injury as the result of an apparent knife assault and a 29-year-old male from Lynchburg, Virginia, who sustained multiple head and back injuries from a physical altercation. Officers rendered immediate aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victims were subsequently transported to Cooper-Cape Regional Medical Center for treatment.

An investigation conducted by the Middle Township Police Department, Major Crimes Unit, in coordination with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Major Crimes Unit, revealed that the female victim and the accused, identified as Skyana Fireall, 27, of Cape May Court House, New Jersey, were involved in a verbal argument at the Dollar General Store in the Burleigh section of Middle Township.  A short time later Fireall and her boyfriend, Sean Bey, 33, of Cape May Court House, New Jersey, arrived at the victim’s residence where a physical altercation occurred between Bey and the male victim.  During the physical altercation, the female victim attempted to break up the physical altercation when Fireall allegedly pulled out a knife, stabbing the female victim on the upper left forearm.  Fireall and Bey then fled the scene in their vehicle.

Through continued investigative efforts, members of the Major Crimes Unit, and the patrol division, working in conjunction with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, located Fireall and Bey and took them into custody without incident.

As a result of the investigation, Fireall has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Aggravated Assault – 2C:12-1b(1), 2nd Degree Crime
  • Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose – 2C:39-4d, 3rd Degree Crime

Fireall and Bey were processed and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.

The investigation further determined that the victims and Fireall and Bey were known to one another, and that the incident was not random in nature. At this time, there is no ongoing threat to the public.
