Deputy Brady Pyatt with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 37-year-old Phillip Coleman Padgett with felony Possession of Cocaine and felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was issued a secured bond of $20,000.
On Friday, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Civic Padgett was driving for a traffic violation.
A subsequent search of Padgett and the vehicle turned up a suspected amount of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
He was taken into custody and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center for processing.
