Man in Possession of Matches and Torch Lighter Arrested for Setting Vegetation Fire in Victorville

INCIDENT: P.C. 451(C) – Arson of a Structure or Forest Land
LOCATION: Valley Center Drive / Lorene Drive, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Cesar Ramirez, 53-year-old Transient of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 9:12 a.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station responded to the area of Valley Center Drive and Lorene Drive regarding multiple reports of a man setting fire to vegetation.
Deputies arrived and located Cesar Ramirez who was in possession of a box of matches and a torch lighter. Approximately 10 feet of vegetation burned before personnel from the Victorville Fire Department extinguished the fire.
Cesar Ramirez was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto, for P.C. 451(C) – Arson of a Structure or Forest Land.
