Oakland Police Investigate Armed Kidnapping
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a reported kidnapping and firearm assault that occurred at around 9:30 p.m. on July 3, 2026, in the 4200 block of Redding Street.
During the investigation, officers learned that the suspect struck the victim with a firearm and forced her into a dark colored, four-door sedan (see attached photos). The suspect drove westbound from the 4200 block of Redding Street with the victim.
Victim Description:
The victim is described as a White female, approximately 30 to 32 years old and about 130 pounds. Her height, hair color, and eye color are unknown.
Suspect Description:
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 30 to 32 years old, about 5'10" and 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue-and-white pants and was armed with a black Glock-style handgun.
