On Tuesday, July 2, 2026, at about 3:41 a.m., Salida Police Services (SPS) deputies responded to the 7000 block of Carver Road, in the Del Rio area of Modesto, regarding the report of shots fired from multiple 911 callers.
Once deputies arrived on scene, they determined that an occupied residence and several vehicles parked in the driveway had been struck by gunfire. As deputies continued to investigate this incident, they discovered that several unknown suspects arrived at the residence in a vehicle and began shooting. After the shooting, they fled the scene. Two adults and one child were inside the residence at the time of the shooting. Thankfully, no one was injured.
We appreciate the public's patience as detectives continue their investigation. No suspects have been identified, the motive remains under investigation, and no additional information is being released at this time.
