Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Hesperia Traffic Collision

INVOLVED PARTY (1): David Ueland, 67-years-old, Resident of Hesperia, Riding Black / Blue Bicycle
INVOLVED PARTY(2): Michael Walker, 84-years-old, Resident of Apple Valley
INVOLVED VEHICLE(2): Black Dodge 3500
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at approximately 9:36 a.m., Deputies from the Hesperia Sheriff's Station and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to a vehicle that collided with a bicycle, near the intersection of C Avenue, and Main Street, in the City of Hesperia.
Upon arrival, deputies located the bicyclist, David Ueland, lying in the eastbound lanes of Main Street with a large laceration to his head. San Bernardino County Fire personnel transported Ueland to the Hesperia Airport where he was flown by Mercy Air to ARMC to receive further treatment.
The preliminary investigation showed the bicycle was traveling east on Main Street in the number two lane. The driver of the Dodge, drove east on Main Street, east of C Avenue, occupying the number one lane. The bicycle continued east and attempted to merge into the occupied number one east bound lane, where it sideswiped the rear passenger side quarter panel of the Dodge. Drugs/alcohol are not suspected to be a factor in this collision.
