Rialto Police Department Holding DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint July 10th, 2026
Rialto, Calif. – The Rialto Police Department will hold a DUI/Driver's License Checkpoint on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. Checkpoint locations are selected based on a history of DUI collisions and arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests but to promote public safety by deterring impaired driving.
"The safety of our community and our roadways is and will always be our mission," Chief Mark P. Kling said. "We want to stop impaired drivers and prevent a tragedy. Driving under the influence is dangerous and puts others on the road at risk."
Rialto Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not limited to alcohol. Certain prescription and over-the-counter medications, as well as cannabis and other drugs, may impair a person's ability to drive safely.
If you plan on drinking alcohol or using impairing drugs or medications, arrange for a sober ride. First-time DUI offenders can face significant fines, penalties, and a suspended driver's license.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
