Four Suspects Arrested in Two Separate Retail Theft Cases

Over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, Petaluma Police officers arrested four suspects in two separate organized retail theft incidents, recovering thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise.

On Friday, July 3, 2026, at approximately 4:24 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft in progress at Dick's Sporting Goods. Officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle as it was leaving the area.

During the investigation, officers determined the two suspects, Aaroon Vasquez Bora (29, Alameda County) and Diego Davilla Jimenez (34, Alameda County) had stolen merchandise from Dick's Sporting Goods. Jimenez was also found to have an outstanding felony warrant out of Alameda County for retail theft and other theft-related offenses.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of additional stolen merchandise believed to have been taken from Nike and Adidas stores at the Petaluma Village Premium Outlets. In total, officers recovered approximately $2,000 worth of stolen clothing from the three businesses.

Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on charges including Grand Theft, Organized Retail Theft, and Conspiracy.

Just two days later, on Sunday, July 5, 2026, officers responded to a reported theft at Kohl's, where two, Zayna Yoder (27, Santa Rosa) and Jose Mendoza (37, Santa Rosa) stole approximately $200 worth of merchandise before fleeing the scene.

Officers later located both suspects and arrested them on charges of Shoplifting (459.5(a) PC) and Conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC).

Retail theft impacts our entire community by increasing costs for businesses and consumers while placing employees and shoppers at risk. If you witness suspicious activity, shoplifting, or believe a retail theft is occurring, please report it immediately by calling 911. Timely reporting gives officers the best opportunity to locate suspects, recover stolen property, and hold those responsible accountable.
