Morgan Hill Police Arrest Suspect in Child Sexual Assault Investigation 
On June 30, 2026, Morgan Hill Police Officers responded to a report of a 10-year-old girl who had been sexually assaulted by a YMCA summer camp counselor. During the investigation, officers learned the alleged incident occurred while the victim was attending a YMCA summer day camp at the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center.
Detectives identified the suspect as Gilroy resident Anthony Joseph Ramon (25) and notified YMCA leadership, who cooperated with law enforcement throughout the investigation and immediately placed Ramon on leave. YMCA confirmed Ramon’s employment began on August 6, 2024.
On July 9th, the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office filed charges against Ramon, and MHPD Detectives took him into custody without incident. Ramon was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on $100,000 bail for violating 288(a) PC – lewd and lascivious acts on a minor.
The Morgan Hill Police Department encourages parents and guardians to have open conversations with their children about safe touch and inappropriate adult behavior and to report any suspected abuse or unwanted contact to law enforcement immediately.
