1. Assault with a Deadly Weapon Arrest (1530) 200 Block of East Washington Street, Civic District
Officers were in the listed area when they observed the suspect strike the male victim, 73, with an object. When officers attempted to arrest the suspect, he pulled away from officers, and force was used to take him into custody. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and declined medical attention. ARRESTED: Carmelino Vasquez-Cruz, 68, for assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
2. Pursuit Arrest (1646) East Martin Luther King Boulevard and South Airport Way, Park District
Officers attempted a traffic enforcement stop on a reported stolen vehicle in the listed area. The driver failed to yield, leading officers on a short pursuit. The vehicle stopped, and the driver was arrested. ARRESTED: Robert Shermintine, 43, for vehicle theft and pursuit charges.
3. Resisting Arrest (0058) 1500 Block of West Sonoma Avenue, Civic District
Officers were investigating a possible kidnapping when they contacted a potential suspect. The suspect fled from officers on foot. Force was used to take the suspect into custody. ARRESTED: Nathaniel Trujillo, 26, for resisting arrest.
