El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from June 7th to June 13th

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.
The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from June 7th  to June 13th.     
 
June 7th
Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Ave/Lincoln Ave:
At 1:27 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence. After the driver was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, they were issued a citation, and released to a sober friend.

Vehicle Tampering – 1300 block of Richmond Street:
At 7:05 AM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect shattered a vehicle window and ransacked the interior but took nothing.  The incident was captured on video around 2:00 AM.

Battery – 5200 block of Victor Ave:
At 1:36 PM, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a suspect who bit her daughter during a fight.  The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released on a citation.

Shoplift – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreens):
At 8:25 PM, an officer reports an unknown suspect exited the store with unpaid merchandise.

June 8th
Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Ave/Hill Street:
At 12:08 AM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop and discovered the subject had two outstanding Napa County warrants for their arrest. The subject placed under arrest, and transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking the subject was released on a citation.

Possession of a Controlled Substance – San Pablo Ave/Conlon Ave:
At 1:21 AM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the subject for being in possession of methamphetamine. The subject was transported to the El Cerrito Police Station for booking. After booking, the subject was released on a citation.
 
Warrant Arrest – Cutting Blvd/I-80:
At 12:47 PM, an officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver on a no cite warrant.  The suspect was transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Theft – San Pablo Ave/Potrero Ave:
At 8:36 PM, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s property that was left at the bus stop.

Shoplift – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreen’s):
At 9:27 PM, an officer reports an unknown suspect exited the store with unpaid merchandise.

June 9th
Tampering With a Vehicle - 600 block of Balra Drive:
At 2:43 AM, an officer reports an unknown suspect smashed out a window on the victim’s vehicle to gain entry. The suspect rifled through the vehicle, but did not take any property.

Identity Theft – 500 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 10:24 AM, the victim reports their bank accounts were accessed without their permission.

Residential Burglary – 2700 block of Arlington Blvd:
At 12:23 PM, the victim reports their residence was entered forcibly and items were taken.

Assault – 10200 block of San Pablo Ave
At 2:45 PM, the victim reports they were assaulted.

Warrant Arrest, Possession of Stolen Mail, and Possession of Narcotics Equipment – Arlington Blvd/Don Carol Drive:
At 3:46 PM, Officers contacted an individual who had five warrants for their arrest.  A search revealed drug paraphernalia and stolen mail. The individual was placed under arrest and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 8100 block of Terrace Drive:
At 9:06 PM, officers located an unoccupied stolen vehicle. The vehicle was released to its owner at the scene.

June 10th
Vandalism – 6500 block of Cutting Blvd:
At 2:45 PM, the victim reports their property was damaged.

Residential Burglary – 500 block of Liberty Street:
At 6:46 PM, the victim reported their E-bike was stolen from a shed by an unknown suspect.
 
June 11th
Grand Theft – 500 block of Ashbury Ave:
At 9:47 AM, the victim reports their property was stolen.

Malicious Mischief of a Vehicle, Vandalism, Possess and Use Access Card Belonging to Another – 6525 Fairmount Ave (Fairmount Auto Care):
At 7:05 AM, Officers contacted an individual sleeping in a vehicle not belonging to them. Damage was located to the business. The individual was placed under arrest.  A search revealed several access cards not in their name, and evidence supporting the use of said access cards.  The individual was placed under arrest and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

June 12th
Warrant Arrest/Possess Controlled Substance & Paraphernalia:
At 11:00 AM, an officer arrested a suspect on a warrant. During a search incident to arrest, drug paraphernalia was located in the suspect’s possession. The suspect was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplift – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshall’s):
At 11:21 AM, an officer reports an unidentified suspect stole merchandise. The merchandise was recovered by store staff before the suspect fled.

Public Intoxication – 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2:04 PM, officers were flagged down for a suspicious person near CVS. The suspect was arrested when it was determined they were too intoxicated to care for themself. The suspect was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility where intake staff declined to take him due to their level of intoxication.  The suspect was cited and released at the hospital for medical treatment.

Assault With a Deadly Weapon – Ashbury Ave/Central Ave:
An officer reported at 11:30 AM, the victim was walking in the area when three suspects shot him with a pellet gun. 

June 13th
Driving Under the Influence – Carlson Blvd/Sacramento Ave:
At 1:21 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence. The driver was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, issued a citation, and released to a sober friend.
 
Warrant Arrest – Knott Ave/San Pablo Ave:
At 10:24 AM, an officer arrested a suspect on two warrants. The suspect was transported directly to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo/Eureka Ave:
At 11:38 PM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested the driver for an outstanding warrant. The driver was issued a citation and released at the scene.
