* Until 330 PM EDT.

* At 249 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Newton to near Lincolnton, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include... Newton, Lincolnton, Cornelius, Mooresville, Davidson, Maiden, Stanley, Westport, Troutman, and Catawba.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CATAWBA, NC ... GASTON, NC ... IREDELL, NC ... LINCOLN, NC ... MECKLENBURG, NC

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. If on or near Lake Norman, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle.
