El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from June 14th to June 20th

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from June 14 to June 20.
 
June 14th
Public Intoxication/Possession of a Dirk – 9996 San Pablo Ave:
At 1:39 AM, officers were dispatched to the area for a person down. Officers located the subject and determined they were too intoxicated to care for themself. The subject was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication. During a search incident to arrest the subject was found to be in possession of a dirk (knife) that was hidden inside their belt. The subject was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 11344 San Pablo Ave (Denny’s):
At 4:31 AM, officers responded to the business for two subjects in a verbal argument. During the argument one of the suspects threw an item at the victim. The suspect fled prior to officers’ arrival.

Theft – 900 block of Everett Street:
An officer reports at 4:15 AM, an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle.

Shoplift – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshall’s):
At 9:18 PM, officers responded to the business for a theft that had just occurred. An officer arrived on scene and located the suspect at a nearby business. The suspect was positively identified during an infield show-up and placed under Citizen’s Arrest. The suspect was transported to the El Cerrito Police Department for booking. After booking the suspect was issued a citation and released.

June 15th
Petty Theft – 6200 block of Cypress Ave:
At 9:34 AM, the victim reports their property was stolen.

Vandalism – 900 block of Elm Street:
At 11:39 AM, the victim reports an individual damaged their property.

Grand Theft – 5025 El Cerrito Plaza (Panda Express):
At 4:27 PM, the victim reports their property was stolen from in front of the business.

Petty Theft – 10890 San Pablo Ave (City Hall):
At 4:03 PM, the victim reports their property was stolen from in front of the building.

Restraining Order Violation – 200 block of Colusa Ave.
At 8:23 PM, the victim reported the suspect violating a court order.

Stolen Vehicle – 6400 block of Schmidt Lane:
At 9:30 PM, the victim reported their vehicle being stolen.

False Information to Police Officer/Felon in Possession of Stun Gun/Probation Violation/Unlicensed Driver/Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Central Ave/Carlson Blvd:
At 2:49 AM, officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for providing a false name. The driver was found to be in possession of a stun gun as a convicted felon, and drug paraphernalia. The driver was also unlicensed and on probation. The driver was later released on a citation and the vehicle was impounded.

June 16th
Vehicle Burglary – 3200 block of Santa Clara Ave:
At 8:47 AM, the victim reports their vehicle was broken into and items were taken.

Vandalism – 400 block of Kearney Street:
At 11:20 AM, the victim reports their property was damaged.
 
Petty Theft – 11700 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 12:00 PM, the victim reports their property was stolen.

Theft by Fraudulent Access to Account Information – 9800 San Pablo Ave (Wells Fargo):
At 12:24 PM, the victim reports their access card information was accessed and used to obtain funds.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon/Battery/False Imprisonment/Kidnapping – 11565 San Pablo Ave (Walgreens):
At 1:06 PM, the victim reports after a confrontation, the suspect struck the victim, pulled them into the vehicle and continued to strike the victim. The suspect additionally spat on additional victims on scene. 

Theft by Fraudulent Access to Account Information/Identity Theft – 10810 San Pablo Ave (Mr. Pickles):
At 1:01 PM, the victim reports their property was stolen and their access cards were used to obtain funds.

Warrant Arrest – 10900 San Pablo Ave:
At 6:44 PM, officers were flagged down in front of the PD. The subject had several outstanding warrants for their arrest. The subject was placed under arrest and later transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Warrant Arrest/Drug Paraphernalia – Knott Ave/Key Blvd:
At 2:40 AM, officers were flagged down in the area by a subject. The subject was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The subject was also found in possession of drug paraphernalia.  The subject was later released on a citation.

June 17th
Shoplifting/Battery – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 10:22 AM, the suspect entered the establishment, selected items and left without paying. Upon confrontation from a store employee, the suspect returned the items, then struck a victim.

Shoplifting – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 10:49 AM, a suspect entered the establishment, selected items and left without paying.

Accessing and Altering Computer Data to Defraud – 1800 block of Key Blvd:
At 12:56 PM, the victim reports their electronic device was accessed and manipulated without their permission.

Warrant Arrest – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 8:25 PM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested the subject on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.  The subject wasplaced under arrest and then later transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
 
Possession of Narcotics – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 11:09 PM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a subject for possession of narcotics. The subject was transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

June 18th
Identity Theft – 7300 block of Donal Ave:
At 10:32 AM, the victim reports their personal information was accessed and used for financial gain.

Battery – Fairmount Ave/BART Path:
At 12:19 PM, the victim reports while walking they were approached by an individual driving a vehicle.  The individual touched the victim on their wrist near their watch and jacket near their wallet however did not steal anyhing.

Warrant Arrest – Waldo Ave/Elm Street:
At 7:30 PM, officers conducted a pedestrian stop and arrested a subject on a misdemeanor warrant. The subject was transported to Martinez Detention Facility.
