INCIDENT: Major Injury Boating Accident
LOCATION: Catfish Bay, Colorado River, Havasu Lake
VICTIM(S): 66-year-old Male
SUMMARY: On Wedensday, July 8, 2026, at approximately 5:51 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station's Marine Enforcement Unit and the Mohave County Sheriff's Office's Marine Unit responded to a report of a collision involving two personal watercraft near Catfish Bay. One individual was reported unconscious in the water.
The preliminary investigation indicates that both watercraft were traveling south near Catfish Bay when one personal watercraft collided with another personal watercraft traveling in the same direction.
As a result of the crash, a 66-year-old male sustained injuries from the collision. The injured party was assisted by other boaters and transported to the nearest launch ramp where he could be treated for injuries.
The victim was transported to an area hospital where he received treatment for his injuries. The circumstances surrounding the collision are under investigation by San Bernardino County Sheriff's Marine Enforcement Unit. No additional information is available at this time.
