Fort Branch man arrested for DUI.

On July 12, 2026, at 12 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a hit and run accident around the 300 block of West Locust Street in Fort Branch.  The reporting party provided a description of the vehicle, the driver’s first name, and area that the vehicle may be heading.  After a brief search, Owensville Town Marshal located a Red GMC Yukon running in front of a residence in the 1000 block of South Center Street in Fort Branch.  When Deputy Michael Bates arrived on scene and spoke with the driver, 43-year-old Andrew Miles of Fort Branch, he detected clues that the driver was intoxicated.  At that point he expanded his hit and run investigation into a DUI investigation.  During this investigation officers on scene found damage to the Yukon that was consistent with the damage reported at the initial hit and run scene.  Once the investigation was completed Mr. Miles was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Detention Center where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated-Endangerment (Refusal) and Leaving the Scene of a Crash.  Mr. Miles was also cited for Operating a Vehicle Without Financial Responsibility.

Deputy Levi Sims and Owensville Officer Steven Parker assisted Deputy Bates in this investigation.
