The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community.  
 
MONDAY, JULY 6, 2026: 

3:11 AM Officer Shaffer conducted a pedestrian stop near Cedar Blvd & Joaquin Murieta Ave. A 42-year-old male and 48-year-old female were both cited for possession of narcotics.

6:39 AM Officer Cervantes investigated a report of a stolen vehicle near Sycamore St & Thornton Ave.

7:19 AM Officer Gonzalez-Alvarez responded to a report of an unwanted guest near Cedar Blvd & Joaquin Murieta Ave. A 31-year-old male was arrested for violation of probation. He was transported and booked into Santa Rita Jail (SRJ).

10:56 AM Officer Lor arrested a 43-year-old male for an outstanding warrant near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. He was transported and booked into SRJ.

7:26 PM Officer Felix responded to a disturbance reported near Mowry Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 63-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication. He was transported and booked into SRJ.

TUESDAY JULY 7, 2026:

9:22 PM Officers responded to a report of a family disturbance near Burdick St & Musick Ave. A 27-year-old male was arrested for domestic battery. He was transported and booked into SRJ.

WEDNESDAY JULY 8, 2026:

9:47 AM Officer Benjamin cited a 39-year-old female for an outstanding warrant and possession of narcotics near Cedar Blvd & Cedar Ct.

1:59 PM Officer Johnson was flagged down by multiple people reporting a subject walking around with a firearm near Newark Blvd & Jarvis Ave. A 48-year-old male was arrested for resisting arrest. He was transported and booked into SRJ.

9:33 PM Officer Heckman conducted a pedestrian stop near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 46-year-old male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

THURSDAY JULY 9, 2026:

2:29 AM Officer Heckman investigated a vehicle burglary reported near Stevenson Blvd & Balentine Dr.

8:53 PM Officers responded to a disturbance reported near Mowry Ave & Cedar Blvd. A 38-year-old male was arrested for assault, resisting arrest, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into SRJ.

FRIDAY JULY 10, 2026:

1:00 AM Officer Berlanga conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Spruce St & Thornton Ave. A 41-year-old male was found to be under the influence of alcohol. He was transported and booked into SRJ.

3:38 PM Officer C. Torres investigated a late-reported bicycle robbery near Thornton Ave & Sycamore St.   
   
8:56 PM Officer Kim initiated a traffic enforcement stop near Brittany Ave & Mirabeau Dr. A 49-year-old female was arrested for driving without a license and an outstanding warrant. She was transported and booked into SRJ.

SATURDAY JULY 11, 2026:

12:25 AM Officers responded to a disturbance reported near Cedar Blvd & Joaquin Murieta Ave.  A 31-year-old male was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation. He was transported and booked into SRJ.

11:31 AM Officers responded to a burglary reported near Cedar Blvd & Cedar Ct. A 38-year-old female was arrested for residential burglary and resisting arrest.

7:15 PM Officer Orozco conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Cedar Blvd & Thornton Ave. A 31-year-old male was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and booked into SRJ.

SUNDAY JULY 12, 2026:

9:25 AM Officer Lor investigated a grand theft reported near Papaya St & Peachtree Ave. This investigation is ongoing. 

2:23 PM Officer Taylor investigated a report of elder abuse reported near Cedar Blvd & Joquin Murieta Ave.

3:08 PM Officers responded to a disturbance reported near Bettencourt St & Birkdale Dr. A 23-year-old female was arrested for assault. She was transported and booked into SRJ.

9:16 PM Officer Kim investigated a report of a stolen vehicle near Filbert St & Enterprise Dr.
