Advisory
Union City, CA – On Monday, July 13, 2026, Union City Police Officers responded to the area of Whipple Road and Central Avenue to investigate a major traffic collision. The collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers located the pedestrian and immediately began administering aid until personnel from the Alameda County Fire Department arrived. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene of the collision and has cooperated with the investigation. At this time, the driver does not appear to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Union City Police Department understands that this is a tragic incident for everyone involved and would like to express our condolences to the families impacted by this incident.
