FFWEWX The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Uvalde County in south central Texas...

* Until 800 AM CDT Wednesday.

* At 1132 PM CDT, Doppler radar, emergency management, and rainfall gauges reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain with ongoing flooding across the warned area. Between 6 and 16 inches of rain had fallen over the past 24 hours with 2 to 5 inches in portions of the warned area within the past 3 hours. Rain rates overnight could exceed 2 to 4 inches per hour at times. Significant Flash flooding is already occurring or soon could develop with numerous roads underwater and multiple water rescues occurring earlier today. Additionally, local creeks and river stems could quickly become even more swollen across the warned area, campers please be aware overnight. Travel is discouraged within the warned area. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Uvalde, Sabinal, Concan, Knippa, Reagan Wells, Garner State Park, Uvalde Estates, Laguna, Montell, Utopia, Cline and Blewett.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
