SUBJECT: Fatal Vehicle Collision Investigation
LOCATION: 800 Block Woodside Road, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: July 14, 2026, Approximately 7:41 P.M.
On July 14, 2026, at approximately 7:41 p.m., Redwood City Police officers responded to the 800 block of Woodside Road regarding a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Officers arrived and found fire and medical personnel providing aid to an adult male. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The preliminary investigation determined the victim had been a passenger in a Jeep traveling southbound on Hudson Street when it was sideswiped by a Ford pickup truck exiting an alley near the Shell gas station. The driver of the victim vehicle pulled over following the collision, but the Ford continued westbound on Woodside Road.
While the Ford was stuck in traffic, the victim exited the Jeep and attempted to stop the fleeing pickup truck. During the incident, he fell from the vehicle and was struck by the Ford.
Redwood City Police officers and investigators conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area. A police drone located the unoccupied suspect vehicle, which was seized as evidence.
Investigators located witnesses and collected surveillance video. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under active investigation.
