Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the suspect pictured below, who signed for and took a package that had been delivered to a victim’s home on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
The suspect, a Black male, was captured on surveillance video standing on the victim’s porch in the 200 block of 16th Avenue. When the UPS driver arrived at approximately 11:12 a.m., the suspect signed for the package—a pair of Fendi Signature Slide sandals valued at $450. Described as having a light-skinned complexion, the suspect was wearing a white graphic T-shirt, a dark-colored hoodie, dark-colored jeans, and a bookbag with “OEC” lettering and a reflective strip.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
