INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Firearm
LOCATION: 15000 block of Portland Street, Oro Grande
SUSPECT(S): Sarah Dayton, 42-year-old resident of Oro Grande

SUMMARY: On July 14, 2026, deputies from the Transit Operations Division, Victor Valley Transit Detail, served a search warrant at a residence in the 15000 block of Portland Street, in Oro Grande.
During the service of the search warrant, investigators located an unserialized, loaded, 9mm handgun and an unserialized short-barreled AR-15 style rifle with a silencer. Both firearms are considered to be "Ghost" guns. Based on the evidence recovered and the investigation, deputies arrested Sarah Dayton, a convicted felon, at the scene.
Dayton was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for, felon in possession of a firearm (two counts), possession of a short-barreled rifle and possession of a silencer. Dayton's bail was set at $30,000.
