Pedestrian Killed in Collision on Twentynine Palms Highway in Yucca Valley

INVOLVED DRIVER: 62-year-old Male, Resident of Landers
DECEDENT: 54-year-old Female, Resident of Yucca Valley (pending next of kin notification)
SUMMARY: On Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 10:48 p.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station, California Highway Patrol and rescue personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire department, responded to a vehicle that had collided with a pedestrian near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Joshua Lane in Yucca Valley.
The driver immediately stopped and rendered medical aid to the pedestrian until the arrival of emergency personnel. Deputies determined that the driver of a white Dodge Ram, struck the female pedestrian who had walked into the east bound lane of Twentynine Palms Highway. Despite lifesaving efforts, the female pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the collision on the part of the driver.
