The Air Quality Alerts across Wisconsin have been extended until 12:00pm (Noon) on Friday, the alerts may be extended after that point. The alerts in Minnesota currently run through 11:00 Friday morning. 

The air montioring site in Odanah has been reading HAZARDOUS air quality levels since 11:00am Wednesday morning.

The easiest way to check air quality in Odanah is with the Wisconsin AQM app, but websites and apps have been crashing with the high amount of internet traffic checking these pages and apps.

Periods of cleaner air are forecast to mix in at times today, still ranging from Unhealthy to Hazardous for most of the day, but another pulse of smoke will settle into the area this evening and overnight, likely keeping us in HAZARDOUS for a large portion of today and tonight.

Smoke will remain in place Friday, also ranging from Unhealthy to Hazardous, but a brief period of cleaner air may move in on southwest winds later Friday afternoon and evening, but the models are showing smoke will likely move back in late Friday night.

The stagnant weather pattern is forecast to become a bit more active starting Sunday, which should help move some air around. The impact on wildfire smoke isn't clear yet, but that active weather pattern will likely give us periods of clean air when the wind is from the south and southwest, and periods of smoke when the winds are from the north and northwest.

The wildfires in Minnesota and Ontartio are expected to continue burning, despite some rain forecast in those areas late Friday and Saturday. Please plan for periods of wildfire smoke to continue for the coming weeks and months.
