INCIDENT: Death Investigation
LOCATION: Iron Mountain Pump Plant, 6001 Iron Mountain Road, Earp, CA
DECEDENT: Unidentified Adult Male
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at approximately 6:45 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police Department responded to a call for service regarding an unidentified deceased male, found floating in the intake area of the Iron Mountain Pump Plant.
Upon arrival, a comprehensive death investigation was completed including a thorough search of the surrounding area with the assistance of the Metropolitan Water District Aviation Unit. The circumstances surrounding how the unidentified male entered the waterway remain unknown. The cause and manner of death are currently under investigation by the San Bernardino County Coroner's Division. Based on the investigation conducted thus far, foul play is not suspected.
The decedent is described as an adult White male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 225 pounds, with a bald head. He was wearing a white tank top and orange shorts.
