| Narrative: | |||||
| On 07/15/2026, (S) Andre Varnado was arrested for domestic violence and firearm offenses. At about 10:07 AM, patrol deputies from the Sheriff’s Fillmore Station responded to the 7900 block of Pine Grove Road in unincorporated Santa Paula reference a domestic dispute in progress. As deputies arrived, they contacted an adult female and (S) Andre Varnado at a campsite. As the patrol investigation unfolded, deputies developed probable cause to arrest Varnado for a domestic violence offense. He was arrested for Penal Code § 243(e)(1) – [Domestic Battery]. Additionally, the investigation revealed Varnado was a convicted felon out of New Mexico and was in possession of an illegal firearm that had a threaded barrel. The firearm’s threaded barrel classifies it as an assault weapon, and it is prohibited under California law. Varnado was subsequently arrested for violations of Penal Code § 29800(a)(1) – [Felon in Possession of a Firearm], Penal Code § 30605 – [Possession of an Assault Weapon], and Penal Code § 30305(a)(1) – [Felon in Possession of Ammunition]. Varnado was transported to the Sheriff’s Pre-Trial Detention Facility where he was booked for the above offenses pending court proceedings.
