Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of July 6-12, 2026
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street. Statistics are captured at the time each Crime Bulletin is written; additional cases may be reported at a later time.
Robberies
There were two robberies during the past week.
On Thursday, 07-09-26, at approximately 6:13 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Dollar Tree on Geneva Avenue on a report of a robbery. The employee stated that the suspect entered the store with an empty bag and then exited with a full bag of unpaid merchandise. The employee approached the suspect outside the store and demanded the return of the merchandise. The suspect responded by breaking a glass bottle and threatening to stab the employee with the broken bottle. The suspect fled northbound on Rio Verde Street from Geneva Avenue. The suspect was described as a Black male, approximately 50 to 59 years old, about 5’6” to 5’11” tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds, and wearing all-black clothing, a black backpack, and red earmuffs.
On Friday, 07-10-26, at approximately 8:43 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Shell gas station on Hickey Boulevard on a report of a man with a gun. The store employee stated that he noticed the suspect enter the store carrying multiple bags. The suspect selected sunglasses and juice and attempted to pay with his cell phone. The suspect was unable to complete the transaction and left the items on the counter, telling the employee that he was going outside to retrieve another form of payment from his bicycle. When the suspect returned, the employee was busy assisting another customer. When the employee began helping the suspect again, he noticed that the sunglasses and juice were no longer on the counter. A verbal confrontation then ensued, and the suspect lifted his jacket, displaying a firearm in his waistband. The employee backed away and called the police. The suspect fled eastbound on Hickey Boulevard on his bicycle. The employee described the suspect as a Black male, approximately 20 to 30 years old, wearing a black beanie, a black leather jacket, and with painted fingernails.
Residential Burglaries
There were two residential burglaries during the past week.
On Saturday, 07-11-26, at approximately 7:59 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the unit block of Poncetta Drive on a report of a residential burglary that occurred between midnight and 7:30 a.m. The victims stated that their garage storage unit had been burglarized. The unknown suspect damaged the storage unit door and stole motorcycle gear, snow gear, luggage, golf clubs, and other miscellaneous items.
On Saturday, 07-11-26, at approximately 4:30 a.m., on the 300 block of Roosevelt Avenue, an unknown suspect entered the garage of a residence and took a garage door opener, three pairs of shoes, a jacket, bags, a car charger, and miscellaneous paperwork from a possibly unlocked 2010 Toyota Camry parked inside the garage. The suspect fled northbound on Alexander Avenue. The suspect was described as a White male, approximately 50 years old, wearing a baseball cap and a thick dark jacket, and had an unknown colored suitcase.
Commercial Burglaries
There were no commercial burglaries during the past week.
Vehicle Burglaries
There were two vehicle burglaries during the past week.
- Bellevue Avenue and Peoria Street—vehicle registration, documents, and a battery pack were taken from a 2020 Nissan Altima. The driver’s side door was pried open. Occurred between 6:35 a.m. on 07-06-26 and 6:00 a.m. on 07-07-26. **Online report.
- 300 block of Roosevelt Avenue—a garage door opener, three pairs of shoes, a jacket, bags, a car charger, and miscellaneous paperwork were taken from a 2010 Toyota Camry. The vehicle was parked, possibly unlocked, inside the garage. Occurred on 07-11-26 at approximately 4:30 a.m. This is the same vehicle mentioned above in the Residential Burglary section.
Stolen Vehicles
There were two stolen vehicles during the past week.
- Parking lot on the unit block of Christen Avenue—a theft of a 2015 Dodge Challenger. Occurred on 07-10-26 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
- 100 block of Peoria Street—a theft of a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. Occurred between 9:00 p.m. on 07-10-26 and 8:30 a.m. on 07-11-26.
Miscellaneous
- There were 142 cases taken.
- There were 8 domestic disturbance cases reported.
- There were 4 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
- There were 4 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
- There was 1 case of public intoxication.
- There were 2 hit-and-run collisions reported.
- There were 6 narcotics-related cases taken.

Mohinga Day

The event will feature live performances, vendors, activities, free food while supplies last, and a Hall of Fame induction.
Free Compost Giveaway
The City of Daly City is partnering with its waste hauler, Republic Services, to host free a compost giveaway event. Compost will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. The event will take place at the Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (153 Lake Merced Boulevard) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:

To participate in the compost giveaway, please bring a sturdy container, shovels, and gloves for this self-serve event. Residents must show proof of residency and are limited to five (5) 5-gallon buckets of compost per household. Events are weather permitting and will be canceled due to rain.
Pachanga Daly City Celebrando Nuestra Cultura
The City of Daly City Department of Recreation Services is hosting Pachanga Daly City Celebrando Nuestra Cultura on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Gellert Park Complex (50 Wembley Drive). There will be food trucks, local merchandise vendors, live entertainment, lucha libre, community information booths, crafts, and family-friendly activities.

Catalytic Converter Etch and Protect Program
The Daly City Police Department is combating catalytic converter theft by providing 500 CatGuard etching label kits to the first 500 Daly City residents who complete a registration form. Once 500 completed registration forms have been submitted, the registration process will cease. Please note, one label kit per household.
Each resident will be notified via email or phone call if you qualify for the label kit. Residents will be provided with a date, time and location of where the kit can be picked up. During the time of pick up, the resident will need to show proof of current residence (i.e., identification and/or utility bill). If you have any questions, please call 650-991-8119. Sandbags Available While Supplies Last
Sandbags are accessible 24/7 at two locations for residents with proof of residency:
- Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (parking lot) - 153 Lake Merced Blvd.
- Department of Public Works (Corporation Yard entrance) - 798 Niantic Ave.
Limit 10. Please take only what is needed as supplies are limited. When filling sandbags, fill them only halfway, so they are not too heavy to lift and will stack properly.
