Flood Advisory until 12:45PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Concho County in west central Texas... Runnels County in west central Texas... Northeastern Tom Green County in west central Texas...

* WHEN...Until 1245 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 938 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ballinger, Winters, Paint Rock, Maverick, Eden, Miles, Rowena, Lowake, Benoit, Hatchel, Mereta, Ivie Reservoir Near Concho Park Marina, Eola, Millersview, Norton, Veribest, Crews, Vancourt, Wingate and Us-83 Near The Concho-Runnels County Line. - This includes the following Low Water Crossings... FM 1692 crossing Concho River, FM 2334 crossing Ninemile Creek, FM 0503 crossing Waloope Creek, FM 0383 crossing Quarry Creek, FM 2334 crossing Dry Lipan Creek, FM 1929 crossing Fuzzy Creek, FM 1692 crossing The Draw, CR 348 crossing Coyote Creek, County Road 3034 crossing Brady Creek and crossings along County Road 3077. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
