Resident Radio Program Emergency Alert Test - Saturday, July 18, 12 p.m.

The Bear Valley Springs Emergency Radio Team (ERT) will conduct a test of the Resident Radio Program alert system on Saturday, July 18, at 12 p.m.

At that time, a test message will be sent to all radios registered with the Resident Radio Program.

The Resident Radio Program is an official part of Bear Valley Springs' emergency response plan. During major emergencies, cell phone and internet service can be unreliable. To help ensure critical information reaches the community, the volunteer-led Bear Valley Springs Emergency Radio Team, in partnership with the Bear Valley Police Department, created the Resident Radio Program.

For a $25 donation, residents receive a battery-powered handheld radio that is programmed and tested by the ERT. When the ERT is activated by the Bear Valley Police Chief or the Chief's designee, critical information is relayed directly to residents through these radios.

If you are not part of the Resident Radio Program, the Emergency Radio Team will also hold a radio distribution event on Saturday, July 18.

Radios will be available at the Equestrian Center parking lot from 9 to 10 a.m. and again from 3 to 4 p.m.

If you are unable to attend during those times, contact the Bear Valley Springs Emergency Radio Team to arrange an alternate pickup time by visiting ac6ee.org/emcomm.html.
