Missing Long Beach Woman Found Deceased in Remote Desert Area of San Bernardino County


DATE: July 10, 2026, at about 10:20 a.m.

INCIDENT: At Risk Missing Person

LOCATION: 20471 Mountain View Road, Adelanto

MISSING PERSON: Julie Elizabeth Goforth, 63-year-old Resident of Long Beach

DESCRIPTION: 5’7” tall, 140 lbs., Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes
Last seen wearing a white shirt, white and black dirt bike pants on a gray Yamaha KLX 300R Dirt Bike

UPDATED ON FRIDAY, July 17, 2026, AT 9:40 A.M.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is saddened to confirm that Julie Goforth has been located deceased in a remote desert area on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at about 12:27 p.m.  
The circumstances surrounding her death are being investigated.  

The Sheriff’s Department extends its heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all those affected by this tragic loss.  We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the OHV community and everyone who dedicated their time, resources, and support in the search efforts. 

The compassion, concern, and commitment shown by community members serve as a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from people coming together during difficult times. Your efforts were deeply valued and greatly appreciated.

SUMMARY: 
On Friday, July 10, 2026, Julie rode dirt bikes with a friend at the El Mirage Dry Lake Off Highway Recreation Area located at 20471 Mountain View Road in Adelanto, Ca. Julie was separated from her friend when she decided to go back to their vehicle for rest. When Julie’s friend went back to the vehicle, Julie was not there. An extensive area check has been conducted but Julie has not been located. Julie is at risk due to the severe heat and the possibility she has no water. Julie and the dirt bike have not been located.
